Chief Executive officer

Eddie Richardson, Jr., M.D., FAAFP

Family Medicine/Geriatrics
Dr. Richardson is a board certified family medicine doctor with a specialty in geriatrics and palliative medicine. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine located in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his family medicine residency at The Medical Center in Columbus, GA. In 2009, he completed his Fellowship of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine from Medical Center of Central Georgia located in Macon, Georgia. He also served in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of the Gulf War. Dr. Richardson is a compassionate doctor who works closely with patients to help them receive optimum medical care. Along with his responsibilities at Lake Oconee Urgent and Specialty Care, Dr. Richardson also serves as a hospitalist to local hospital, Putnam General, and Hilton Head Memorial Hospital in South Carolina. Dr. Richardson is a resident of Lake Oconee and in his leisure time enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his wife Jameelah Gater, M.D.


Jameelah Gater, M.D.

Family Medicine/ Integrative Medicine/Emergency Medicine
Dr. Gater is a board certified family medicine doctor with a focus on integrative and emergency medicine. She received her medical doctorate at University of Michigan and completed her family practice residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2009, she completed her integrative medical training from University of Arizona under Andrew Weil, M.D. Dr. Gater has received many honors including Resident of the Year from Georgia Academy of Family Physicians and the Thomas C. Davies Family Practice Award from the University of Michigan. Along with her responsibilities at Lake Oconee Urgent Care she also serves as an independent emergency medicine contractor, where she works in many community hospitals providing emergency care. She is also currently the Medical Director of Emergency Department at Putnam General Hospital. Dr. Gater is a resident of Lake Oconee and enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband Dr. Eddie Richardson, Jr.
