Eddie Richardson Jr. Doctor of Medicine

    Meet Eddie Richardson Jr., M.D.

Tell me a little about your education and how you became a doctor.

I am truly living a dream. I set out to be a doctor at 5 years old and here I am. My career is more than what I had hoped & prayed for in every aspect. I’m a board certified family medicine doctor with a specialty in geriatrics and palliative medicine. After receiving my  Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine located in Atlanta, GA., I went on to complete my residency at The Medical Center in Columbus, GA. In 2009, I also completed my Fellowship of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine from the Medical Center of Central Georgia located in Mason, GA. I also served in the United States Marine Corps, and I am a veteran of the Gulf War. I became a doctor because I enjoy helping patients & their families in a very important aspect of their lives – their healthcare! I love that I get to help people on a daily basis!

What do you like to do when you are not at the office?

I enjoy traveling and playing a good round of golf. Dr. Gater and I are also spa connoisseurs. We will travel the global for a great massage!

How do you stay involved in your community?

I have been attending my local church for over five years.  I sit on a few local committees and those give me the opportunity to participate in community activities. I enjoy meeting new people.

Why did you decide to become a concierge physician?

Becoming a concierge physician is an opportunity to give my patients the special personal touch that they like, need, and desire! The concierge practice will afford me the opportunity to engage my patients about all aspects of their healthcare: preventative, social, family, fitness & wellness, as well as nutrition, and all the while spending a good deal of quality time with them.

For physicians, concierge practice is our chance to practice medicine the way it was before insurance companies started dictating healthcare. I am very excited about the opportunity for my patients as well as myself.

Is there anything else you would like for me to know?

The goal of our practice is to deliver the highest quality healthcare to our patients in a friendly, comfortable & respectful environment in an efficient and timely fashion.

    • Dr. Eddie Richardson has taken care of me in minor to critical circumstances, and he hasn't steered me wrong yet. Since we’ve gotten to know each other, we speak like friends. It's very comforting and really means a lot. When I'm sick and depressed, and don't want to be, Dr. Richardson puts me at ease, helping me mentally and physically. He treats my overall circumstances. I'm more than a number to him, and he talks to me to find out about every aspect of my life. Concierge care is not just a patch-and-go deal."

    Concierge Medicine Philosophy & Approach

We believe that medicine today should focus on prevention, early detection, wellness, direct patient care and spending dedicated time with patients. These are the tenets of concierge medicine. After years of private practice, physicians who transition to concierge medicine get to return to giving patients the type of care they envisioned when entering medical school.
